Aston Villa are still pushing to sign Barcelona winger Ferran Torres, according to reports from Spain.

Newspaper Sport today explains that the Villans haven’t given up on the signing, even though they’ve had some setbacks in this chase lately.

The story explains that Aston Villa are finding difficulties on all fronts. Their offer was deemed ‘insufficient’ by Barcelona, the player’s salary is too much for them to cover and he isn’t even convinced about moving to Villa Park this summer.

That wasn’t enough for Unai Emery’s side to give up, though, and the coming days could be very important for this pursuit.

Monday is the day when Barcelona will get to know whether Ousmane Dmebele’s release clause will be triggered or not. If not, then they can afford to lose other attackers in the squad, and coule be more open to negotiations.

Then Aston Villa would need to come up with better offers for all those involved. It’s claimed the club are willing to make this effort and try to convince the player.

This is a complicated situation with many factors to be sorted out, and we’ll see how things develop this week.
