With the battle for Bayer Leverkusen star Moussa Diaby going at full speed, reports on Monday morning revealed that Aston Villa had been struggling to find a deal for the signing.
Unai Emery’s side seemed to be outbid by Al Nassr, who were offering €38m plus €5m in bonuses, and it was claimed Unai Emery’s side should soon come up with a new bid.
That has now happened, according to German outlet Bild. Their website features a story claiming both Aston Villa and the Saudi side have increased their offers, and the two of them are worth around €50m.
Bild start sounding optimistic about the deal, claiming it ‘remains to be seen’ whether that will be concluded before the German and the English clubs start their pre-season tours.
Even though Al Nassr’s offer also sounds good, they don’t get much attention, as a result of the winger’s wish to join Aston Villa.
We should also wait and see if Bayer Leverkusen will actually accept the bid, since their initial request had been €60m.
