Over the past few weeks, the Italian media have repeatedly talked about Juventus’ keen interest in signing Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz.
The saga around the Brazil international is set to come to an end and the transfer be made official, as Tuttosport report.
Brazil manager Dorival Júnior has included the Aston Villa midfielder in his squad for the Copa América and they start their campaign against Costa Rica on Tuesday.
Seleção’s next clash is against Paraguay on June 29th, and the report says the 26-year-old will undergo medical tests in the United States after tomorrow’s clash, in the presence of the Turin club’s medical staff.
This is the last step to secure a mega deal that will see the South American join Juve and both Samuel Iling-Junior and Enzo Barrenechea move to Aston Villa.
Luiz is set to sign a five-year deal worth €4.5 per year (after tax) at the Italian club and this deal is expected to go through soon.
Aston Villa signed Luiz from Manchester City in 2019. He made 204 appearances for Unai Emery’s side, managing 22 goals and 24 assists in the process.
