As things stand, Morgan Sanson is edging ever closer to a move back to France, with Montpellier leading the pack.
Earlier on Wednesday, we covered an article stating Nantes were ready to do pretty much anything to get the midfielder, but it’s his former club who appear to have the advantage.
That’s according to L’Equipe, who state the player ‘could return to Montpellier in the next few days’, seemingly one of the preferred choices of the Aston Villa man.
It’s made clear that they can’t dawdle too much, seeing as other clubs are lurking, but the idea of him heading back to the club where his professional career really took off is ‘getting closer and closer’.
The French newspaper state those in charge of matters at Montpellier are ‘moving towards a loan without an option to buy’, with that being until the end of the current season and with Aston Villa taking on ‘an important part of the wages’.
However, the deal has yet to be finalised and the outlet add that ’it hasn’t been excluded’ that an option to buy could be added.
They have to move sharpish, though, as Nantes and an anonymous German side are also ‘moving quickly’ to get him on loan.
