On August 20th, AS Roma signed Leon Bailey from Aston Villa on loan with an option to buy set at €22m.
The Jamaica international picked up an injury in his first training session with the Serie A side. He’s been sidelined since then and there’s been several claims about the Aston Villa man’s return.
Three days ago, claims from Italy had indicated the winger’s injury situation is worrying Aston Villa. He was initially expected to be out for around 40 days, but it has already been longer than that.
Il Messaggero, relayed by Siamo La Roma, report Roma manager Gian Piero Gasperini is eagerly awaiting the 28-year-old’s return.
It’s claimed the Aston Villa owned player will return after October’s international break.
LaRoma24 have relayed a positive update from Il Tempo on Bailey’s injury situation.
They state the former Bayer Leverkusen man is ‘closer to recovery’.
The attacker started running on the pitch after a long spell with physiotherapist. The report add his goal is to return to full training during the international break and make it to the squad to face Inter Milan on October 18th.
The signs so far seem positive for Bailey to make his Roma debut later this month.
