Over the weekend, Brazilian journalist Samir Carvalho shared some news regarding the future of Aston Villa player Philippe Coutinho.

It was claimed that in case of a return to Brazil, the 30-year-old would give his priority to his former club Vasco da Gama, despite the strong interest that Corinthians have been showing in him lately.

It turns out that as journalist Jorge Nicola covers that story, he confirms Coutinho’s intentions, but claims he’s not leaving Aston Villa in the coming weeks.

Even though the Brazilian transfer window is still open and he could move to his home country soon, it’s said that the player is staying at the Premier League side until at least the end of the season.

Coutinho reportedly ‘made it clear’ to his representatives that he wants to continue at Aston Villa, even if on the bench, but in case he gets tired of that situation by the summer, then he will accept a move out of the club.

As usually done in those reports, it’s repeated that the midfielder has a very good salary in England, and would need to take a huge pay cut if he did eventually decide to return to Brazil.
