Earlier today there were repeat claims of Aston Villa’s Moussa Diaby having just arrived in Saudi Arabia.
It felt like Diaby had arrived in the Middle East country about ten times, but it seems he never actually did.
Other reports had him travelling to Spain for a medical to join Al-Ittihad. That’s where the Saudi club are spending part of their preseason, so it makes sense for the player to travel there and go through the formalities.
Fabrice Hawkins reports Diaby is now joining his new Al-Ittihad teammates in Benidorm.
He’s set to sign a five year contract once the medical is completed to Al-Ittihad’s satisfaction and Aston Villa will then have their money.
Diaby has only spent one season at the Birmingham but it appears this is a move that everyone involved is content with.
Aston Villa will then be more secure regarding their spending in the market and may be able to move a few times again before the window closes. Monchi will certainly be planning something.
