Aston Villa are also interested in a deal for Brazilian centre-back Vitão, although West Ham United have got there first with a bid.
Diario de Sevilla cover the player today as part of a look at Real Betis defender Germán Pezzella, who could be set to depart the Spanish club this summer and return to River Plate.
If that were to happen, then they’d need a replacement, and their focus is currently on Vitão as the man to do that given he’s set to be out of contract at the end of June.
They face competition from the Premier League, though, as Aston Villa ‘would also be interested’ in moving for the Brazilian.
That comes after a report yesterday indicated West Ham had already made a bid for him to try and beat the competition to the punch and strengthen Julen Lopetegui’s squad this summer.
West Ham were the first to make a move and try to ensure he doesn’t stay at Internacional but now Aston Villa are seemingly in the picture too and have the advantage of being able to offer Champions League football.
Whether they now want to make their own move after West Ham already submitted a bid, or are waiting in the wings, remains to be seen.
There could also be Betis to contend with if they’re not careful, with Pezzella’s potential exit setting them up to also move and increase the competition.
