Aston Villa are now on the verge of securing Tammy Abraham from Beşiktaş.

After over a week of difficult talks and several offers from the Premier League club, Unai Emery’s side appeared to make a big step forward on Friday morning.

Beşiktaş have been open to accepting one or more Aston Villa players as part of the transfer. Several options have been considered, and indeed asked for, however there’s been issues on all until Yasin Özcan was brought into the equation.

The 19-year-old joined Aston Villa in the summer and was sent out on loan to RSC Anderlecht. He’s not had a lot of joy there and, crucially, is keen on the move to Beşiktaş.

Also crucially, Yasin Özcan didn’t play any minutes for Aston Villa before he departed for Belgium. Subsequently, he can move to a third club this season without going against FIFA transfer rules.

Aston Villa’s full Tammy Abraham offer now stands at €21m plus the young defender.

Turkish journalist Fırat Günayer has explained to his audience that it’s a good deal for Beşiktaş and should be accepted.

“I think the €21m offer spoken for Abraham + the Yasin Özcan proposal is a good offer,” he said.

“You’re making a profit on Abraham in just six months, you can plan for a stronger striker for next season, and you’re strengthening your domestic rotation with Yasin Özcan. I hope it happens.”

It would appear Günayer will get his way. Turkey’s TRT Spor report there’s a preliminary agreement now in place between Aston Villa and Beşiktaş.

That’s on the basis of the above offer from the Premier League club. Tammy Abraham is subsequently very close to moving to Villa Park.

Ertan Süzgün reports Yasin Özcan’s representatives have started talks over personal terms. That aspect has already been agreed for Tammy Abraham.

Süzgün also states the Aston Villa offer has been accepted. Payment plans are now being discussed.
