Multiple clubs around Europe are trying to get rid of players who have contracts expiring in June 2025, and there’s perhaps no more striking situation than that of Federico Chiesa at Juventus.
Over the past week reports from Italy have said his agent Fali Ramadani has travelled to England to try and get one of Tottenham Hotspur, Manchester United, Chelsea or Arsenal to make an offer for him.
Now Aston Villa are dragged back into the picture by Gazzetta dello Sport. Chiesa won’t be part of the Juventus squad as they face Brest in a friendly on Saturday, and that’s seen as another clear sign the club are trying their best to sell him.
Ramadani obviously hasn’t had the result he wants so far, which could be why Aston Villa are mentioned again. The agent may feel he can tempt Monchi into moving for what could be a bargain deal.
Aston Villa and Juventus were involved in business earlier this summer so the communication lines are certainly there between the two clubs.
The Turin club are said to now want €20m, which is a good price for Chiesa and it remains to be seen whether Juve can have any joy on the Aston Villa route.
