Aston Villa have been presented with an interesting opportunity to sign Endrick, as another loan away from Real Madrid is now looking very possible.
The 20-year-old has already had one successful spell away from the Spanish club. After what happened at Lyon, he is open to doing it again.
Aston Villa are one of the clubs to have “knocked on his door”, according to Monday’s print edition of Spanish newspaper AS. Italian side Roma have done the same.
Endrick is already listening to proposals and working out which option makes the most sense for him.
Aston Villa can give Endrick what he wants
Endrick has a pretty clear idea of what his next move should look like. If he leaves Real Madrid, he wants European football and would prefer the Champions League. Just as importantly, he wants to be the starting number nine.
AS specifically points to Aston Villa and Roma as clubs that can offer him those things. His situation in Madrid certainly gives him plenty to think about.
José Mourinho has left the final decision with Endrick, but he has also been clear about where the Brazilian stands.

The manager sees him as a centre-forward, despite Lyon also using him on the right. The issue is that Endrick isn’t quite the type of number nine Mourinho wants behind Kylian Mbappé.
That role was previously filled by Gonzalo. Mourinho wanted to keep the academy product, while making it clear that starting opportunities would be limited.
Once Gonzalo joined Fulham, the manager asked Real Madrid to sign Carlos Espí. That has pushed Endrick further down the queue. He is now effectively the third option at centre-forward, behind Mbappé and Espí.
Moving to the right doesn’t really solve the problem either. Real Madrid have Diomande, Brahim Díaz and Bernardo Silva as options there. Rodrygo can also play on that side once he returns from injury.
So, from Endrick’s point of view, another loan makes plenty of sense.
Madrid could help Aston Villa get a deal done
There is also a recent example showing why Endrick might fancy another temporary move. He joined Lyon for the second half of last season and had a productive few months in France. The Brazilian managed eight goals and seven assists in 21 matches.
More importantly for him, playing regularly helped him get to the World Cup. Real Madrid also see another loan as a good solution. They have invested far too much in Endrick to have him sitting around without regular football.
They initially agreed to pay Palmeiras €35m (£30.4m), plus another €25m (£21.7m) in bonuses.
Once the transfer fee, commissions, wages and bonuses are all taken into account, AS puts Madrid’s total spending at close to €80m (£69.5m). They understandably want to protect that investment.
That could even work in Aston Villa’s favour. Madrid are prepared to consider covering part of Endrick’s wages to make a loan easier. The forward earns more than €5m (£4.3m) net per season.
There are still choices for Endrick to make, with Roma also in the picture. Yet the basic pieces are there for Aston Villa.
The player is open to leaving, Madrid see a loan as the best solution, and Villa can offer the level of football and the role he is looking for.
