Youri Tielemans agents have formally denied any claims that he wants to leave Aston Villa and insisted there are no plans on that front.
They’ve been formally contacted by La Dernière Heure in Belgium following reports in England that Tielemans was looking to leave Aston Villa as soon as possible.
The midfielder joined the Villans on a free transfer from Leicester in the summer as part of their continued backing of Unai Emery in the transfer market.
He was hoping to kick on after a difficult few months at Leicester, where he had struggled for his best form and failed to help them avoid relegation.
That’s not proven to be the case, though, with him so far unable to establish himself in Aston Villa’s team, where the midfield is packed full of talent and Emery is seemingly reluctant to change what has been a winning formula.
Tielemans has already aired his frustrations on the matter publicly but a report in England stated that he was now looking to leave in January and head elsewhere due to strained relations with his manager.
It appears that is not the case, though, at least according to his agents, who have strongly denied such claims according to La Dernière Heure.
The newspaper have contacted Tielemans’s entourage, which ‘formally denies’ any strained relationship with Emery.
The accept and say it is ‘obvious’ his current situation is not easy but state the player ‘remains determined’ to make a success of his time at the club and ‘wants to fight for his place’.
Furthermore, they insist that a difficult few months at Villa Park would at no point bring his transfer decision into question and a departure is ‘not at all on the agenda’.
Whether that puts an end to the speculation around the Aston Villa man remains to be seen, but it seems he and his entourage are keen to put out any fires before they spread.
