Aston Villa midfielder Douglas Luiz remains AC Milan’s prime target this summer as they seek alternatives to Renato Sanches.
That’s according to Gazzetta Dello Sport, who explain how the Italian side are looking to alternatives to the Portuguese midfielder, who appears to be on his way to PSG.
He’s yet to make a definitive choice on that move, but the signs are that he will go to Paris instead of Milan and thus, the latter need to find other options to fill a hole in their squad.
Aston Villa’s Douglas Luiz is the one they have their eye on in that regard, with them considering him the profile of player who would ‘complete the midfield’.
It is because of this the ‘quotations’ for him are increasing, with Aston Villa demanding €30m for the Brazilian at this moment in time.
They’re not keen to lose Luiz, but his contract is set to expire next summer, and with no sign of him signing an extension, they will need to sell rather than lose him on a free transfer in a year’s time.
That’s where AC Milan come into the picture, and Luiz is ‘in pole’ in terms of the options they are looking at, but finances are tight, and they’re unlikely to match those Villa demands.
Negotiations are needed, but it is first dependent on Sanches choosing PSG over AC Milan, at which point the Serie A side will then make their move for Luiz or other alternative options.
