Aston Villa forward Bertrand Traoré is set to join Istanbul Başakşehir on loan until the end of the season.
That’s according to Foot Mercato, who say that the Aston Villa man will ‘in all likelihood’, join the Turkish side this summer.
They explain that after impressing in his first season at Villa Park, last year was more ‘complicated’ for the forward and he wants to move to give his career ‘new impetus’.
Thus, he is ‘on the move’ this summer and now looks likely to move to Turkey, where he has numerous suitors.
Istanbul Başakşehir are currently at the front of the queue for his signature after an ‘uphill battle’ between them, Besiktas, Trabzonspor and Galatasaray for him.
The Super Lig side are looking to play Traoré as a number nine, a role that worked for him during his time at Ajax in 2016/17 and he presumably hopes that will help him kickstart things once again.
There’s no mention of the deal being negotiated with Aston Villa, just that it will be a loan until the end of the season.
This deal appears to be progressing, though, with Traoré set to spend the season in Turkey looking to reignite things after a disappointing second year at Villa Park.
