Aston Villa have submitted a new offer for Tammy Abraham, which includes youngster Yasin Özcan as part of the deal.

That’s according to journalists Sercan Dikme and Yağız Sabuncuoğlu, who provide the latest on Unai Emery’s striker pursuit today.

Dikme reports that Özcan’s name has been brought in to negotiations between Aston Villa and Beşiktaş for Tammy Abraham. According to his information, the latest deal is €21m plus Yasin Özcan as well.

He says that is ‘seriously on the table’ and the details of the potential move in that form are being discussed.

Sabuncuoğlu then reports that Özcan has agreed to join Beşiktaş already. If they can find an agreement with Aston Villa, he will terminate his loan at Anderlecht and return to Türkiye. Villa are open to letting him leave this month.

Özcan joined the Belgian side on loan in the summer. He is not a regular, though, with just 552 minutes to his name to date. Crucially, he never played for Aston Villa this season so would be free to move to Beşiktaş this month. That now appears to be a distinct possibility.

Aston Villa can use player as leverage

Aston Villa paid €7m for him in the summer but now seem happy to use him as leverage to get the Abraham deal over the line. They’re keen to add a striker to their squad after allowing Donyell Malen to leave for Roma.

A report two days ago stated that they’d been asked to add a couple of million on to their offer by Beşiktaş. That was followed by some last-minute dithering from the Turkish side.

Now it seems Aston Villa have countered by throwing Özcan in to the mix to make up the difference and potentially help them to get the deal over the line once and for all.

Beşiktaş president Serdal Adal has already publicly said they’d like players in the deal.
