Aston Villa are reportedly one of the clubs who made contact for Real Madrid midfielder Dani Ceballos.
That information is today revealed by Spanish outlet Marca, who details the situation lived by the 26-year-old at the La Liga giants lately.
Ceballos is in his final months of contract with Real Madrid, and since the start of the year, his entourage has been receiving approaches for his signing.
Aston Villa and Milan are reportedly two clubs who made polls about his situation, and for both of them, he basically gave the same reason to reject the offer.
Regarding Unai Emery’s side, Marca claims he ‘has it clear’ that he doesn’t want to return to the Premier League. He also told the Rossoneri that he’d rather stay in Spain.
It’s just not clear whether Aston Villa and Milan tried to anticipate a move in the January transfer window, or if they came in in hope of waiting until the summer to sign him as a free agent.
Real Madrid are still expected to try to renew Ceballos’ contract, although they now face some local competition, as Atletico Madrid are also interested in him.
