Aston Villa have been pursuing a move for AS Roma’s Matias Soule and are now looking at another player from the same team.

Sport Witness have covered Unai Emery’s side making initial contact for the Argentine.

They want to take advantage of Roma’s financial situation, as they need to execute sales by the end of June.

As possible exits from Rome take shape, Aston Villa can help them for another sale.

Interest in Kone

DajeRomaTV report that the player in question is Manu Kone, who is the Giallorossi’s most important player. More than that, he is also possibly their most valuable player.

Aston Villa see him as a possible target, with Unai Emery said to be a fan of the France international.

Roma see his exit as inevitable. They need ‘significant offers’ to sell Kone, with the Villans’ interest in Soule also highlighted by the outlet.

The midfielder’s price tag isn’t fixed yet. This is because new sporting director Tony D’Amico is yet to take office. But the Italian is unlikely to stop a sale, with Gian Piero Gasperini also happy to part ways.

Kone could be a key signing

The 25-year-old feels like a player that Emery would like. He operates between the lines, is press resistant and his dynamism makes him a threat when breaking forward.

Kone isn’t expected to cost more than €50m. He is at the right age and will also play at the World Cup. Aston Villa can promise him Champions League football and a better wage.

Inter Milan have previously been keen but they now appear to be focusing on Curtis Jones instead.
