Aston Villa have joined the fight for Brazilian starlet Vitor Roque, according to local reports.
Outlet Globo Esporte today features a story where they reveal that the 18-year-old’s entourage has been in Europe speaking to several clubs.
There’s been a stop in England to meet representatives from Premier League sides, and Aston Villa are one of those who spoke to them.
The story claims there are no bids for Vitor Roque on the table yet, although a few clubs already promised to make their attempts in the summer window.
According to Globo Esporte, both the player’s staff and his club Athletico Paranaense expect to make him one of the biggest sales in Brazilian football history, and expect to negotiate his move for over €42m.
Aston Villa are probably aware that they won’t have an easy task to join this battle. Because besides the big price, there’s also huge competition from the likes of Barcelona, Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and West Ham United.
Vitor Roque is getting big hype following his appearances for Athletico and Brazil’s youth ranks, and at this stage, it’s no surprise so many clubs want him.
