Aston Villa have Marseille’s Robinio Vaz on their transfer agenda, according to L’Equipe. This comes after claims of Chelsea pushing for the youngster.

Unai Emery’s side could take advantage of his contract situation to snatch him from the French club.

The striker extended his contract until 2028 after talks in April. Roberto De Zerbi has mainly used him as a substitute and he’s played 373 minutes from 14 league matches this season, managing four goals and two assists.

This convinced Marseille to open talks to extend his contract for a further two years, but negotiations broke down. That’s because of the huge difference in what they offered, and the 18-year-old’s demands The French club are refusing to negotiate.

The newspaper say Vaz earns around €10,000 gross per month and has one of the lowest salaries in the squad. Due to the breakdown in renewal negotiations, a January move could be possible.

Marseille are tempted to cash in from the France U20 international’s sale. L’Equipe make it clear they haven’t made him available in the market but have started to leak about a price between €25-€30m.

This indicates De Zerbi’s side would be open to negotiations if there’s an offer of at least €25m.

Aston Villa and Eintracht Frankfurt are Vaz’s suitors. According to the report, both clubs have expressed their interest in the player. It isn’t specified if they contacted Marseille or his camp.
