Aston Villa’s Enzo Barrenechea could complete his move to Valencia in the next few hours after talks between the two sides were reopened.
That’s according to Super Deporte, who report that the deal has been reactivated in the last few hours after previously being halted by Aston Villa.
They say the player’s potential arrival at Valencia is ‘once again open’ as the two clubs are talking again and negotiating a transfer.
A deal has not yet been closed or finalised, but it is expected to happen in the next few hours despite Aston Villa refusing to sanction it on Wednesday afternoon.
The two clubs are now working on a simple loan deal without a purchase option. The transfer had initially been stopped by Unai Emery as several injuries had limited the options in his squad.
But Barrenechea has ‘pressured’ the Aston Villa coach to allow him to move to Valencia. He wants the move to get himself a first-team spot and ‘quality minutes’.
His efforts have worked and now Valencia and Aston Villa are working to seal the transfer before the end of the transfer window on Friday.
