Aston Villa are edging closer to signing Beşiktaş forward Tammy Abraham, as transfer talks between the two clubs intensify.
This morning, we covered reports that Aston Villa officials had travelled to Turkey in an attempt to get a deal over the line.
Villa officials also watched last night’s Super Lig game between Kayserispor and Beşiktaş. Abraham played the 90 minutes in his side’s 1-0 victory.
In the past hour NTV Spor have reported on the latest developments regarding Villa’s pursuit for their former attacker. Abraham spent the 2018/19 season on loan at Villa Park, so he could fit in easily.
Beşiktaş president Serdal Adal has told his negotiating team that he wants nothing less than €20m for the 28-year-old. Aston Villa opened their bidding at €15m, and have since increased this to €17.5m.
However, Adal seems frustrated with Aston Villa’s initial offers as he looks to make a quick profit on the player. Abraham is currently on loan from AS Roma and the Super Lig club have an obligation to make that move permanent for €13m.
Transfer talks will continue and now it seems a matter of time before a deal is announced.
Aston Villa agree personal terms

Again, it’s reported Abraham has agreed personal terms with Aston Vila and now it’s a case of convincing Beşiktaş over the transfer fee. The centre forward has been offered £4m a season after tax, with a 4.5-year contract.
The Black Eagles have also been preparing for Abraham’s exit after contracting Napoli over Romelu Lukaku. Beşiktaş have requested a health report from the Serie A side before making a decision whether to pursue the Belgium international.
Abraham spent the 2018/19 season on loan at Villa Park and impressed during his time there. He scored 26 goals in 46 games before returning to his parent club Chelsea. In 2021, he joined Jose Mourinho at Roma.
Since signing for Beşiktaş, he’s been among the goals, but didn’t find the back of the net last night.
