Earlier on Thursday, we covered a report in Italy about Aston Villa being interested in Charles De Ketelaere, currently at AC Milan.
The Belgian hugely struggled in his first season in Serie A after his big move from Club Brugge, and it appears the Italians are trying to get rid of him a year later, with the Villans said to be considering a €25m offer for the player.
The latest update on the situation comes from journalist Sacha Tavolieri, who took to Twitter to explain the situation around the Aston Villa target.
He makes it clear immediately that De Ketelaere himself has ‘not changed his mind’, and his first option is to stay where he currently is in order to convince Stefano Pioli to use him more often.
However, those in charge of transfer matters at Milan ‘have a different opinion’, and are said to be ‘discussing with several clubs’ a potential transfer for the Belgium international.
Among those are Aston Villa, who are described as the ‘most concrete’ club out of those who have been approached.
Therefore, we now have to wait and see.
