corriere verona July 6thAston Villa have completed the signing of Hellas Verona goalkeeper Pierluigi Gollini, according to claims in the Italian media. In the past 24 hours we’ve covered reports that Aston Villa were closing in on a deal for the 21-year-old.

Corriere di Verona have revealed this morning a deal has been agreed for Gollini to sign for Aston Villa for a fee in the region of €5m, despite the youngster having a buyout clause of €10m.

Gollini’s move to Aston Villa has been described as a golden deal by the regional newspaper because Verona stand to make a big profit on Gollini following his move from Manchester United in 2014.

Verona were relegated last season to Serie B, but Gollini has been described as a positive during their poor campaign.

Gollini came through the Manchester United youth system, but never made a senior appearance for the Premier League side. The Italian was a regular for Verona last season, making 25 league appearances.
