Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion are both interested in Valencia midfielder André Almeida, according to reports from Spain.

Those claims are today made on El Chiringuito, where journalist Marcos Benito talks about the 22-year-old.

It’s said that Almeida has been drawing the attention from the Premier League, where there are clubs willing to spend €30m on his signing.

The report then says that that Aston Villa and Brighton are the ‘main’ interested sides in him, even though it’s not clear if either of them would be able to afford that amount.

It was just last summer that Valencia spent €8m to sign Almeida from Portuguese side Vitória Guimarães.

It turns out that the midfielder quickly became a very important piece for the Mestalla side, having 35 appearances so far in his first season there.

El Chiringuito’s story doesn’t say if those €30m would be enough to sign him next summer, but that’s probably a fair amount, given the quick profit the La Liga side would be making with him.

Now we shall wait and see if Aston Villa and Brighton will place those numbers on the table.
