Arsenal, Aston Villa and Newcastle United are all lining up for a Spanish transfer tussle with Atletico Madrid to sign Nicolas Jackson from Chelsea.
That’s according to Super Deporte, who report that Atlético are not the only club interested in signing the forward this summer.
According to their information, Arsenal, Aston Villa and Newcastle have also made the striker a priority as they look to add to their forward line.
They state that Newcastle in particular are keen on the Chelsea man as they fear losing Alexander Isak in the summer. If the Swede departs, he’ll leave a major hole to be filled, and Jackson is the man they have their eye on.
Arsenal, meanwhile, are in desperate need of attacking reinforcements and Aston Villa are likely to be hunting for another player in the position after selling Jhon Duran to Al-Nassr.
Jackson will not be cheap, though, with Chelsea having paid €37m to Villarreal to get him and unlikely to let him leave for anything below €50m.
Whether Arsenal, Aston Villa or Newcastle are willing to pay such a fee remains to be seen and Atlético may have something to say about it as well.
