Aston Villa and Newcastle United have Marseille’s Matteo Guendouzi on their agenda for the summer.

The midfielder managed five goals and five assists from 43 games last season.

Téléfoot journalist Yassin Nfaoui states Aston Villa and Newcastle, along with Juventus and Inter Milan, are all interested in signing the 24-year-old.

Le10 Sport have provided more updates on the claims made by Téléfoot and relayed comments made by the player on his future.

He had a mixed season under Igor Tudor’s orders and lost prominence towards the end of last season.

The report states this was enough for the former Arsenal man to ‘ask questions’ about his future, at a time when Marseille ‘don’t seem to be ready to close the door’ on his transfer.

It’s claimed Aston Villa, Newcastle, Juve and Inter are all ‘ready to welcome’ the France international, in the event of a transfer.

Tudor’s exit has been confirmed and his successor is yet to be appointed. Amid interest from Aston Villa, Newcastle and others, Guendouzi has revealed a decision on his future will be made after holding talks with Marseille and their new manager.

“There will be discussions with the management, with a new manager who will arrive. You also have to know what needs he will have, is the style of play a style that will suit me,” he told Téléfoot, relayed by Le10 Sport.

“We will weigh the pros and cons and then we will make decisions together. In any case, the leaders told me that they have great confidence in me and that I will continue to be an important player next season.”
