Aston Villa and Brighton & Hove Albion are among the clubs to have RB Leipzig’s Amadou Haidara on their radar.
That’s according to Africa Foot, who cover Aston Villa and Brighton interest and Leipzig’s position on sanctioning a move when the window reopens in January.
The midfielder played 40 games last season and hasn’t made an appearance this season, mainly due to injury.
Haidara had received interest from a few clubs in the summer window, and the report states there were concrete offers, but make no mention of why a transfer didn’t take shape.
The 27-year-old continues to attract interest from Aston Villa, Brighton, Deportivo Alavés, Beşiktaş and Qatari side Al Sadd SC, and Africa Foot report these clubs have ‘positioned themselves’ to try and sign the Mali international in the winter market.
In addition to these clubs, unnamed clubs from England, Germany and Spain are also said to be in the mix.
They add the German club wouldn’t oppose his sale in the next window, which should please Unai Emery’s side, the Seagulls and Haidara’s other interested parties.
Haidara is in his final year of contract and this, coupled with his current injury situation may not allow Leipzig to demand a hefty sum in January, to avoid risk of losing him for free next summer.
There’s no mention of a figure in the report, and Transfermarkt currently value Haidara at €16m.
