Aston Villa are among the ‘admirers’ for Roma striker Tammy Abraham as he considers his future at the Italian club.
That’s according to Corriere dello Sport, who say the striker won’t be moving in January but is very much thinking about a potential return to the Premier League.
They explain that the striker ‘wonders about his future’ in Italy after a disappointing start to the season that has seen him struggle for goals and lose the faith of the Olimpico crowd.
He’s also recently lost the faith of Jose Mourinho, who has been one of his staunchest supporters but criticised the striker in publicly of late.
This has led the striker to ponder his future, with him set to use this international break trying to ‘regain his enthusiasm’ all the while ‘waiting to see what will happen in June’.
Despite his poor form this season he knows he still has ‘admirers’ in the Premier League, particularly at Aston Villa, where he shone earlier in his career during a loan spell in the Championship.
They are one of the clubs looking at him with a view to next season and his future is very ‘still to be written’ at this point.
In Trigoria they are insistent that he will not be moving in January so there is little to no chance of Aston Villa getting him at that point but next summer is a different story.
The rumours of an exit at that point are becoming ‘more and more’ insistent and Villa intend to be a part of the picture if Roma and the player decide it is time to part ways.
