Werder Bremen’s relegation from the Bundesliga is hugely disappointing for the German club and will surely see several players leave them in the coming window.

Ahead of the season, Italian clubs, including Napoli and AC Milan, were keen on Milot Rashica, with interest also coming from Bayer Leverkusen, RB Leipzig and Aston Villa.

In September there were claims from Germany that Aston Villa were ready to pay the €25m Werder Bremen required for a sale. It was explained Rashica wasn’t keen, feeling a move to Leipzig would be better for him, and that he didn’t want to be involved in a relegation battle at Villa.

Instead he got a relegation battle in Bremen, and one which was ultimately lost.

Calciomercato report Italian clubs could return for Rashica, however, they state Aston Villa have ‘already knocked on the door’, and are in contact with Werder Bremen.

Now it’s believed a transfer would cost around €16m, and there’s a good chance Rashica now finds the Birmingham club more attractive than last year, depending on which other clubs come in for him.
