Aston Villa have Chelsea’s Axel Disasi in their list to strengthen their defence in the winter market.

The centre-back has been restricted to four starts in the Premier League this season. He isn’t pleased with his situation at Stamford Bridge and is looking for a way out.

That’s according to L’Equipe, who state Disasi wants to leave Chelsea to join Aston Villa before Monday’s deadline.

The Villans are hoping to secure a quick agreement with their Premier League rival for the 26-year-old’s transfer.

They have now made the former AS Monaco man their priority target to improve their defence. However, Aston Villa’s negotiations with Chelsea for Disasi haven’t moved forward.

It’s claimed the France international has a deal in place with Chelsea to go out on loan in this window. For now, the west London club aren’t honouring it and blocking his transfer to Villa Park.

Therefore, it’s not certain at this point of time that the France international can end up at Aston Villa.

Earlier in this window, Aston Villa made a bid for Sevilla’s Loïc Badé, but he wasn’t keen on joining them. Unai Emery then publicly confirmed desire to sign Villarreal’s Juan Foyth, but this operation hasn’t progressed.

L’Equipe state Axel Disasi hopes an agreement ‘will be found quickly’ so he can join Aston Villa.
