Arsenal interest in a couple of Sporting players is today highlighted by the Portuguese media.
Newspaper O Jogo features a short story claiming the Gunners have been following Viktor Gyokeres and Ousmane Diomande, with a bigger attention towards the centre-back.
It’s said Arsenal have had the defender referenced as ‘promising’ since he was 18, when playing for Mitjylland, and he’s one of the targets wanted by Gunners boss Mikel Arteta.
Then it’s claimed that Gyokeres has also been ‘conquering’ the London side’s interest, as they’ve been having a ‘lack of goals’ which could be fixed by the former Coventry City player.
The fact is that Sporting are unlikely to let any of their stars go in the middle of the season, so Arsenal would have to trigger their release clauses to get them signed in January.
That puts a €80m price tag on Diomande and €100m on Gyokeres, with both players also wanted by other Premier League clubs.
In case the Gunners want to negotiate for a smaller fee, then they better be patient to wait until the summer and maybe try a double coup.
