Thursday’s edition of L’Equipe has a look at several France squad members and their current transfer situations.

With the World Cup on the horizon, some deals will be pushed through before the tournament, but with France players the feeling is much will wait until all is said and done in Russia.

Arsenal get a mention with a couple of Didier Deschamps’ squad, one of them being Ousmane Dembele.

There’s been many suggestions of a possible loan or permanent move for the Barcelona player to Arsenal, although much of it came from the axis-of-transfer-evil leaders Don Balon, and L’Equipe don’t believe anything looks close now.

It’s stated Sven Mislintat has a ‘real closeness and continued contact’ with the player, and the same is said for PSG’s new manager Thomas Tuchel.

It would be a huge signing for Arsenal, but Dembele showing a few flashes of brilliance at the end of Barcelona’s season should be enough to kill a move, unless the Catalan club want to raise some money.

And if it’s the money issue, and a move around €100m, that could also take the Gunners out of the picture.

It’s not looking good right now.
