Before we cover another story on Arsenal’s interest in Lyon midfielder Bruno Guimarães, we better recall all the reports that have been out in the past couple of days.
It was first Goal who broke the news saying the Gunners chase the midfield. They said there’s been an approach to the French side, who demand at least €35m to open talks.
Then Sport Witness’ sources confirmed the interest, making sure to say it’s not guaranteed that Arsenal would reach the numbers asked by Lyon.
On Thursday night, Lance also reported the chase, claiming the Gunners could soon ‘intensify’ the contacts for the signing, although the player will only talk about his future after the Tokyo Olympics.
Now in a new report from Globo Esporte, we see a few more numbers revealed.
They write that Guimarães has indeed become a target for Arsenal, who are willing to invest up to €30m on his signing. Lyon, however have been demanding at least €40m to let him go.
The outlet recalls that the midfielder has a contract running until 2024, and has recently been approached by Borussia Dortmund as well.
That’s all Globo Esporte has to say for now, making it clear that Arsenal’s evaluation still seems to be a little below from what Lyon expect to make from the player.
