Real Betis are willing to make a ‘significant financial effort’ to sign Willian from Arsenal next summer.

That’s according to La Razón, who back up reports from earlier this week that the Spanish side are keen on the Brazilian.

On Wednesday we covered a report that stated Betis were eyeing up Willian as a replacement for club legend Joaquin, who is seriously considering retiring at the end of the season.

It was explained that those in charge of Betis are planning for that eventuality and Willian is one of those they are looking at.

La Razón back that up and say they want to make the Arsenal man their ‘media signing’ for next season.

It’s explained that Willian is not happy at Arsenal after joining them in the summer and Betis are willing to make a ‘significant financial effort’ to bring him to Spain.

They believe he would be a ‘renowned signing’ for the club and would help to cover for the loss of Joaquin should he decide not to renew for another year.

The biggest ‘handicap’ to any deal happening is his wages, with the Brazilian currently earning more than €200,000 a week at the Emirates, a price Betis could not match.

They would also need Arsenal to ‘give up receiving any amount’ in a transfer, which it’s claimed they could do simply to get his big wages off the books.
