Porto are set to get some good news ahead of the Champions League clash against Arsenal next week.
The Dragons’ striker Mehdi Taremi, who has missed a few matches due to injury, should now be back in the squad for the match versus the Gunners.
That’s today reported by newspaper O Jogo, who claims that even though the centre-forward did not travel to face Portimonense tonight, he’s expected to be in the squad for the Arsenal clash.
The situation was confirmed by manager Sérgio Conceição, who highlighted Taremi’s importance for the team.
“He’s better, almost 100%. If he doesn’t make the squad, he’ll certainly be in the next ones, because he’s developing very positively”
“You know what I think of him. We’re counting on him until the last day of his contract, just like everyone else.”
Taremi has six goals and four assists for Porto this season, despite the many games missed due to international duty and the recent injury.
That’s why Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta should keep an eye on his return to the team.
Another piece of good news for Porto is the return of fullback Wendell, who’s been in great form this season and was recently called up by Brazil for the first time.
He’s recovering from an ankle injury and should be available for tonight, having his place against Arsenal guaranteed.
