Arsenal are interested in Grêmio youngster Gabriel Mec, according to reports from Brazil.
The Gunners’ chase is revealed by outlet Globo Esporte, who features a story about the youngster’s first contracts.
Grêmio had just agreed to an image licensing deal with Gabriel Mec. Since he’s just 15, that’s a way the club found to get his first professional contract on track, as he can only sign that once he turns 16.
It’s said wonderkid is treated like a jewel at the club, and that’s where Globo Esporte points out that European sides are already following him.
It’s claimed that the likes of Arsenal and Paris Saint Germain have already made enquiries to Gabriel Mec’s staff.
Their interest seems to be in the very early stages, especially because it would still be a couple of years until the player is allowed to make a move to Europe.
This isn’t the first Grêmio player that Arsenal have been linked to in the past few months.
The Gunners had also been chasing Bitello, although he’s now set to complete a move to Russian side Zenit.
