Lautaro Martinez was repeatedly linked with an exit from Inter Milan in the summer transfer window, with the same situation happening in previous windows.

A year earlier it had been Barcelona who were most repeatedly credited with an interest in the Argentine, and in the most recently concluded window there were endless links with Premier League clubs.

InterLive report all of Arsenal, Tottenham and Atletico Madrid made offers for the player, and it’s now it’s thought they could face competition from one of Europe’s greats.

Robert Lewandowski’s Bayern Munich contract expires in summer 2023, and should there be no renewal, and the Bundesliga club therefore agree to a sale, then a replacement would need to be found.

Among the list of candidates, InterLive say Martinez is there, and Bayern making a move would obviously make things more difficult for Tottenham, Arsenal and Atletico.

For the English clubs a lot will depend on their own outgoings, and with Inter thought to be wanting around €100m, it wouldn’t be an easy deal for any the clubs involved.

Replacing Alexandre Lacazette with Martinez would be a great move for the Gunners, yet would be highly ambitious, and Tottenham efforts will likely be subject to what happens with Harry Kane’s future.
