As Diari de Girona today writes about the La Liga side’s market movements, there’s something interest regarding Arsenal and Artem Dovbyk.
The story starts with the newspaper explaining how much of a bargain the striker was last summer, when Girona only spent €7.75m to sign him from SK Dnipro-1.
In his first season in Spain, Dovbyk had 25 goals and ten assists in 41 appearances. That not only means the signing was a big success, but also that many clubs are chasing him.
Arsenal are labelled as one of the European sides who started testing the ground about the transfer, with some competition from Atletico Madrid and Napoli.
Girona are aware of the situation, and already have a clear plan. They’re only letting him go in case one of the interested sides manages to ‘get close’ to his release clause, which stands at between €40m and €50m.
Diari de Girona brings no information whether Arsenal and others are willing to pay that much, even though his great season may convince them to do so. That’s something we shall see in the coming weeks.
