Arsenal may be trying to spend big on Declan Rice for their midfield, but it seems Edu Gaspar and Mikel Arteta are also thinking about their attack.
This comes via L’Equipe on Friday, who continue to claim that the Gunners are interested in Bayer Leverkusen’s Moussa Diaby.
The links between Arsenal and the French forward have been rife for some time, and with the two clubs already in talks over the potential transfer of Granit Xhaka, the channels are clearly open.
The Premier League runners-up do face competition from Newcastle, but it’s stated that the Emirates residents appear to have ‘taken the lead’ in the race to sign the 23-year-old ‘these last few weeks’.
That is quite the news, although it remains to be seen how much Bayer will want for their star, who helped them out considerably last season in the Bundesliga, as he picked up nine goals and nine assists in 33 league appearances.
Something to think about beyond the Declan Rice stories, as they are the ones currently clogging up the Arsenal transfer rumour mill.
Once that happens, it’s worth keeping an eye on this one.
