Last month, reports coming of Italy stated Arsenal had found an initial agreement with Fiorentina for Dušan Vlahović’s transfer after showing willingness to make an offer of around €80m.

On December 1st, Corriere Fiorentino explained the Gunners have ‘raised the offer’ to sign the striker.

Tuttosport on Thursday have a report, stating Juventus must watch out for Arsenal in the chase for he 21-year-old.

It’s claimed the Turin club ‘insist’ on the Serbia international and he would prefer to stay in Serie A by joining the Old Lady. However, the north London club ‘try’ to sign La Viola’s star regardless.

Vlahović, with a contract expiring in 2023, has decided against signing an extension. He wants to leave the Italian club, but it’s not clear whether an exit will take place in January or next summer.

His national team coach, Dragan Stojković, has advised him to continue in Italy, where Juve seem to be in pole position. Contacts have already taken place, even between the two clubs.

Juventus need a top striker and Vlahović ‘convinces from all points of view’. They can find a better deal with Fiorentina, if the player decides to wait until next summer, when he will have a year left on his contract.

In 2020, Fiorentina chairman Rocco Commisso allowed Federico Chiesa to join Juve on a two-year loan deal with a mandatory purchase option. The chief was forced to compromise because the winger only wanted the Turin club.

Commisso wants to avoid a similar situation with Vlahović and is trying to convince the latter to accept an alternative solution.

Mikel Arteta’s side can offer a different route and, in the ‘last few days’, Arsenal have sent signals that they remain serious. It’s even explained the Gunners have ‘take some important steps’ to sign the Serbian.

To sum it up, Juventus and Arsenal are battling it out for Vlahović, and Arteta’s side have made progress in recent days. Fiorentina would prefer to sell him in January, but the player will have the last word on where and when he will move next.
