Anything which Alexis Sanchez posts on social media becomes news in Chile. His dogs are probably known to most of the country, and the player is followed very closely by the media. He’s a national hero after all.
On Sunday, Sanchez posted a message which got the media a little confused. La Tercera newspaper called it ‘curious’, whilst Terra said it was ‘mysterious’.
In English, the message translates to: ‘When I’m alone at home I make sure I seek a motivation because the one I had I don’t have anymore… and that’s how it should constantly be in life.
‘We as sportsmen or people motivate ourselves to being the best, giving the best to our families or children. Finding this motivation is what makes you grow as a person, sportsman, and reach success. And what’s your motivation?’
In Chile they think there’s something deeper to this message. No, it’s not Sanchez looking ahead to next summer and a motivation at a new club, the Chilean media think it may all be part of a marketing campaign.
