Real Madrid president Florentino Perez should sign Arsenal goalkeeper David Raya, if he wants ‘the best goalkeeper in the world’.

That’s according to his closest friends, who were busy signing the Arsenal goalkeeper’s praises to El Chiringuito before last night’s win over Real Madrid in the Champions League quarterfinals.

Raya has established himself as one of the leading goalkeepers in Europe over the last 18 months after first joining Arsenal on loan from Brentford.

He quickly edged out Aaron Ramsdale as Arsenal number one and hasn’t looked back since, with 88 games so far seeing him concede 71 goals and keep 37 clean sheets.

His performances have him competing with the best in Europe and on the international stage, where there is an ongoing battle for the Spanish number one jersey as well.

His friends are certainly impressed by his work at Arsenal so far and, when stopped ahead of the game against Real Madrid, were happy to send Florentino Perez a message about the Gunners star.

“Let’s see, this way. Let him be like he always is and good luck,” they said when asked to send him a message.

“Yes, yes, good luck and good luck. David, stay calm and you’re the best. That’s it, stay calm, and Florentino Perez should sign David if he wants the best goalkeeper in the world.

“We love him very much and he should come here supporting him as always.”

Now, whether Real Madrid would ever make a move remains to be seen given they already have Thibaut Courtois in goal and he’s no slouch himself.

We’d suggest it’s not going to happen anytime soon, but if it does, perhaps Raya’s friends will have played their part in some way.
