Earlier this month, we covered a story from Gazzetta dello Sport who looked at the deals Italian clubs could make in the summer.
One of those was the situation surrounding Arsenal’s Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, who has one year left on his contract and could be sold in the summer.
He could, of course, also extend his stay at the Emirates, but if the Gunners decided to cash in, they would be looking at around €35m for his services.
That’s what Gazzetta dello Sport thought at the time, and they stand by that valuation on Wednesday, as they explain the player remains one of the names who could replace Lautaro Martínez at Inter.
They state the Gabon international ‘will leave’ Arsenal in the summer, and while he has a ‘high starting valuation’ of €70m, it’s believed that ‘today, it could be done for half that’.
There is also talk of Barcelona trying to include Arturo Vidal and Antoine Griezmann in a deal for Martínez, but that would leave the Serie A side with the problem of somehow paying the Frenchman his €17m/year wages.
But would the former Atlético Madrid star leave after just one year, regardless of the alleged tensions with Lionel Messi? We’re not so sure.
