Arsenal defender William Saliba is Real Madrid’s top target for the 2025 summer transfer window.
That’s according to Le 10 Sport, who report that Saliba has been made the new priority after the arrival of Kylian Mbappé this summer.
They explain that now that the offensive part of the squad has been finalised with the arrival of the Frenchman, Real Madrid now want to focus on shoring up their defence.
They want the ‘next nugget’ to add to the group, presumably after missing out on Lenny Yoro this summer, and the new priority is the Arsenal star.
Those in charge at the club have already started making their moves, contacting the Arsenal star’s entourage. This is only a first contact to ‘take the temperature’ and position themselves ahead of a possible move.
A major operation could be built in the coming months but whether Arsenal would even talk about a potential deal is up for debate.
Saliba is undoubtedly a pillar of Mikel Arteta’s side, and they will be extremely reluctant to sell the 23-year-old, but the belief is that Real Madrid will tempt them financially and convince the defender in the same way.
