Arsenal star Alexis Sanchez won the Golden Ball after Chile beat Argentina to win the Copa America for the second time in a row.
Sanchez scored three goals in the tournament, and also had added assist to his name.
Shortly after the win, Sanchez was speaking to Chilean newspaper La Tercera, and he admitted it was the nicest thing that has happened in his life and that they have changed the ‘history of Chilean football’.
Sanchez: “I have no words for my colleagues, I am very excited, I do not realise what is happening, we are champions and against Argentina. It’s the nicest thing that has happened to me in my life and the final that not everyone wins everyday.”
The Arsenal star believes that he and his teammates have paved the way for future generations, with the standing of Chilean football being higher now than perhaps it ever has been.
The 27-year-old is now expected to go on holidays, and may have a prolonged break, missing the start of Arsenal pre-season training.
