Arsenal are back to getting linked to Montpellier starlet Elye Wahi.
Fichajes writes that two specific clubs have been showing ‘considerable interest’ in the 20-year-old lately.
Those are Arsenal and Monaco, and according to the report, it’s the Gunners who have an ‘advantage’ in the race for the transfer.
It’s claimed by Fichajes that ‘there’s even talk’ of a first proposal to get Wahi to the Emirates Stadium this summer.
Montpellier are said to be demanding between €30m and €35m to let the striker go. For now, it isn’t said whether the Gunners are willing to match that price.
Even though Monaco are ‘not giving up’ on the chase for the youngster, another advantage Arsenal would have is their place in the Champions League.
The Gunners should perhaps be a little worried about the English competition for this signing, because in the past few months, the likes of Liverpool, Manchester United, Newcastle United and Tottenham Hotspur all got linked to Wahi as well.
Featuring for Montpellier this season, he has had an impressive record with 17 goals and six assists in 32 appearances to date.
