On February 6th, Corriere dello Sport stated Arsenal are the favourite destination for Lazio star Sergej Milinković-Savić.

Three days later, Gazzetta dello Sport reported the Gunners seem willing to invest to secure the midfielder’s services after this season.

Fast forward to the end of February and Calciomercato discuss Arsenal’s interest in the 27-year-old.

The Serbia international’s contract expires in 2024 and he aims to leave the Serie A side after this season, in order to avoid leaving for free a year later. He has an agreement with both his agent and the Biancocelesti to find the most profitable solution to change clubs.

Lazio are fifth in the table and the player wants to help the club finish in the top four, with the hope that it could convince other clubs to bet on him in the summer.

It’s explained Premier League sides have ‘manifested the most concrete intentions’ to sign him and this is when Arsenal are tagged.

Mateja Kežman, the Lazio star’s agent, has offers of around €40m from Mikel Arteta’s side and a few other clubs. There’s no mention who among these sides are currently leading the chase for the player’s signature.

Milinković-Savić has six goals and eight assists from 30 matches in all competitions this season.
