At the weekend, Brazilian outlet Radio Guaiba revealed Arsenal’s interest in Grêmio midfielder Bitello.

It was claimed that scouts from the Gunners had watched the player in action in Sunday’s match against Botafogo.

It turns out that Rafael Pfeiffer, the same journalist who reported Arsenal’s first visit, says the representatives will be back in Porto Alegre tonight.

Scouts from the Gunners are now set to watch Bitello in action against Bahia. That’s the second leg of the Copa do Brasil quarter-finals, with the first game ending 1-1.

On Youtube, Pfeiffer says Arsenal representatives have already spoken to Grêmio’s president. The English club ‘started asking questions’ and want the midfielder signed.

The Brazilian side reportedly demand €10m for the sale. It’s claimed that the likes of Barcelona, Celta Vigo and AS Monaco had all been linked to Bitello lately, but it’s Arsenal who now come ‘stronger’ for the transfer.

It’s said that despite the wish of manager Reanato Gaucho to keep the player until the end of the year, Grêmio will struggle to hold him if the Gunners place a good offer.
