Arsenal are one of a handful of clubs who appear to be taking an interest in Baris Alper Yilmaz, currently the man in form at Galatasaray.

That’s according to journalist Burhan Can Terzi, who revealed the interest of the Gunners in the 23-year-old while discussing the player’s performance against Basaksehir on Kontraspor, where he was key in his club’s 2-0 win on Saturday.

The winger, who has burst become increasingly important for Galatasaray since early December, is now on a huge hot streak, scoring three goals and assisting another two in his last six league games, which has caught the eye of Arsenal.

Not only that, but the player has been used in a variety of roles this season, ranging from left-back to right winger, and a recent stint on the right of the defence.

He has maintained a high level of football throughout, which seems to have piqued the interest of Arsenal, who travelled to watch him against Basaksehir.

Burhan Can Terzi said: “English giant Arsenal followed Baris Alper to Rams Park yesterday. Maybe the record of the Sacha Boey transfer can be broken at the end of the season.”

Yilmaz now has four goals and five assists in 38 appearances for Galatasaray this season, but it’s worth pointing out he was only an impact player off the bench in the early stages of the season, growing from strength to strength as the season has gone on.
