Arsenal appear to have a special scouting mission going on tonight.

It’s no secret that the Gunners have been heavily linked to two Sporting stars lately, as Ousmane Diomande and Viktor Gyokeres are frequently reported as two of their summer targets.

Now, according to Portuguese newspaper Record, Arsenal will be in Lisbon watching the Sporting duo in action against Benfica.

The outlet reports that the Gunners are one of the many clubs who’ll be watching the cup tie. Even though they don’t specifically say who those scouts are watching, just pointing out that the clubs are ‘preparing the purchases’ for the summer, it’s impossible to ignore the recent rumours which have been linking the Lions’ duo to Mikel Arteta’s side.

A recent report from newspaper O Jogo said Arsenal are ‘pleased with the evolution’ Diomande has been having, also having some ‘missions’ to watch Gyokeres, who has scored 36 goals this season.

The problem is that those players are protected by €80m and €100m release clauses, respectively, so the Gunners would need a huge investment to get them both to London. We’ll see if tonight’s match will convince them to do so.
